New Youth 3-On-3 League

The UHC’s New 2018 Spring Youth 3-On-3 League Is Now Open for Registration!

The phenomenon of structured 3-on-3 hockey that’s swept central and eastern Canada over the past decade has arrived at the Ultimate Hockey Centre in West Kelowna. The Ultimate Hockey Centre has now introduced a new competitive Youth 3-on-3 league program starting this coming Spring.

“We’ve been watching the evolution of structured league 3-on-3 play in a number of other markets and it’s been taking off. We wanted to bring it here to the UHC because we have the perfect facility for it”, says Adam Less, a Managing Partner at the Ultimate Hockey Centre.

“3-on-3 Spring and Summer leagues provide a number of unique benefits for youth players and their parents. For players, they offer an extension to the traditional minor hockey season where kids can keep playing beyond March and keep their skills developing. For parents, Spring 3-on-3 is less expensive than elite Spring Hockey programs and requires no out-of-town travel. The program is also more game-oriented, less drills oriented, which the kids love and 3-on-3 on the smaller ice sheet provides better skills development than traditional 5-on-5 hockey on a full size ice sheet. So the kids playing 3-on-3 are having fun and improving faster at the same time!”

The UHC’s new Spring program includes 10 weeks of ‘league’ play, with all games on weekdays evenings at the Ultimate Hockey Centre, a two-day wrap up tournament, 2 practice ice sessions, custom (name & #’s) jerseys and socks, scorekeepers, game officials, league website with schedule, scores & stats all for a $300 registration fee. In addition to registering individual players, parents can also register a full team. For 2018, the 3-On-3 league program will be split into 3 age divisions which will include a division for Novice (2009-2010), Atom (2007-2008) and a combined Peewee/Bantam division (2003 – 2006). Checking is not permitted but the program is designed to offer competitive play.

The UHC hopes to see the new Spring league expand in the seasons to come. For more information, click here. To register click here. Registration is limited.
